01 Introduction
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes the types of information drown ("we," "us," or "our") collects from users ("Users") of our Services, how that information is used, and the steps we take to protect it. By accessing or using our Services, you confirm that you have read and understood this Policy and agree to its terms.
If you believe any information in this Policy is inaccurate or incomplete, please reach out to us directly through our Discord support server.
02 Data We Collect
When you interact with drown, the following categories of data may be collected and stored:
2.1User Identifiers — Discord user IDs, usernames, and display names.
2.2Server Information — Guild IDs and server names associated with your subscription.
2.3Structural Data — Channel IDs, role IDs, message IDs, and message timestamps, used to support server features and logging.
2.4Command Inputs — Arguments and parameters provided when executing commands through the Bot.
2.5Historical Data — Deleted message content (up to 19 entries, held for a maximum of 2 hours) and message edit history (up to 19 entries, held for a maximum of 2 hours). This data is automatically purged after the retention period.
We do not collect payment details, email addresses, IP addresses, or any information beyond what is necessary for the Bot to function.
03 Why We Collect It
3.1All data collected by drown is used strictly for operational purposes. This includes:
- a.Processing and executing commands issued to the Bot;
- b.Diagnosing technical issues and maintaining system stability;
- c.Powering specific features, such as name history tracking and server name logging;
- d.Aggregating data to support overall system performance and reliability.
3.2We do not use collected data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose outside the direct operation of the Bot and its features.
04 Data Retention
4.1Most data is retained only for as long as it is needed to deliver a specific feature. Historical message data is automatically deleted after 2 hours.
4.2Server configuration data and user identifiers associated with an active subscription are retained while that subscription remains active. Upon termination, data is held for up to 30 days before being permanently deleted.
4.3You may request early deletion of your data at any time — see Section 6 for details.
05 Third-Party Disclosure
5.1drown does not sell, rent, trade, or transfer any User data to third parties or external organizations under any circumstances.
5.2We may disclose information if we are legally required to do so, such as in response to a valid court order, subpoena, or applicable law. In such cases, disclosure will be limited to only what is legally required.
5.3The Bot operates within the Discord platform and is subject to Discord's own Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review Discord's terms independently.
06 Your Rights
6.1Right to Erasure. You may request that we delete any personal data we hold about you. To do so, open a ticket in our Discord support server. Your request must clearly identify the data to be removed and include sufficient proof of account ownership. Requests are processed within 14 days.
6.2Right to Access. You may request a summary of what data we hold about you at any time. Submit your request via our Discord support server and we will respond within 7 days.
6.3Self-Service Options. Some data can be cleared directly through the Bot. Users can clear their own nickname and username history via the
namehistory command. Server administrators can clear guild name history via the gnames command.07 Security
7.1We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data we store against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
7.2While we strive to maintain strong security practices, no system is entirely immune to risk. By using the Services, you acknowledge this inherent limitation.
7.3If you become aware of any potential security vulnerability or unauthorized access to your data, please notify us immediately through our Discord support server.
08 Policy Amendments
8.1We may update this Policy at any time. Changes will be reflected on this page with a revised effective date. We encourage you to check this page periodically.
8.2Your continued use of drown's Services following any update to this Policy will be treated as your acceptance of the revised terms.
8.3Breaches of this Policy or our Terms of Service may result in the permanent suspension of access to all drown Services and any associated accounts.
